This penthouse renovation focuses on reconfiguring ground and first floor layouts to better align with the client’s lifestyle. Key interventions include converting the ground lounge into two private bedrooms, introducing a compact lift for accessibility, and redesigning the kitchen for improved flow. Social spaces are planned for large gatherings, while upper floors receive refined spatial and bathroom adjustments. The immediate priority is developing accurate as-built and proposed layouts for authority approvals before proceeding to design.

Requirements

The Opaline Penthouse project was envisioned as refined yet functional home tailored for a large, multi-generation family. The client’s desire was to have a layout which could offer privacy and enable large gathering. It would also have a Majlis style living and dining space and enhance accessibility with use of lift. A major challenge in this project was working with multiple stakeholder expectations. There were frequent room reassignment, and a budget constraint which needed balance. The solution was drawn from focused planing, reworking layouts, and shifting to curated furniture from custom built ones. Despite budget limitations, the project was able to bridge the gap between aspiration and feasibility.
